Residents went down to the woods – and got a very spooky surprise!
The first ever Wynyard Park Resident’s Halloween Scavenger Hunt was a fantastic success, with scores of little ghosts and ghouls joining in the fun.
Wynyard Park staff transformed a small area of woodland to create a super scary walk featuring a haunted graveyard, gigantic ghosts suspended from the trees and a whole host of other frightening features.
Children set off from the residents’ garden and hunted for Halloween-themed clues which were dotted throughout the woods before finishing at the main entrance lodge for a well-deserved treat or two.
Craig Pinder, Wynyard Park Development Manager, said: “It was so fantastic to see our growing Wynyard Park community come together for this event.
“We had such fantastic feedback that we’d love to make it an annual event, making sure that next year it’s even spookier!”
He added: “We hope it’s the first of many events for our residents.”
Danielle Davies, of Snowdrop Avenue, attended the event with her children Finlay, five, and Parker, three.
She said: “A great, well organised Halloween event.
“Children, adults and dogs all dressed up and enjoyed the spooky Halloween hunt in and around the woodland.
“Armed with our pumpkin baskets we found ghosts, bats, skeletons and sweets along the way before finishing off with a hot drink or juice for the little ones.”
She added: “What a fabulous community to live in.”
Dee Pallister, one of the self-builders at Wynyard Park, attended the event with her children Hugo, eight, and Darcey, six.
She said: “What a fantastic Halloween Trail!
“From start to finish they wanted to please, and please they did! Fantastic guys - well done!
“Roll on next year!”
