Representatives from construction and property firms across the region gathered for the North East Development Conference at the Newcastle Civic Centre. The conference held on the 8th January explored the biggest challenges and opportunities across the region, with investment, development and regeneration in the area being the focus.
Matt Johnson, Wynyard Park’s Development Director joined the expert panel discussing placemaking and building inclusive communities, along with Karbon Homes’ Executive Director Charlotte Carpenter, Avant Homes’ Technical Director Steve Jones and High Street Residential’s Director of Acquisitions, Rodger Till.
The panel discussed forthcoming residential development programmes of varying size, from inclusive and vibrant villages to towns and cities in the region. Matt shared the strategy and masterplan of Wynyard Park, the largest privately funded estate in the country, which has recently received Garden Village status backed by the Government.
Matt said: “It is important to continue to drive investment in our local area, and platforms like the North East Development Conference are a great place to exchange knowledge whilst shinning a light on our achievements as a region. The progression, development and regeneration of the region is clear to see and we should be supporting each other where we can.”
